Everything I need to know about life I learned teaching 3rd grade
Picture this...
Today, all 8 third grade classes (approximately 200 kids) were out on the field practicing a dance for next week's program. In this particular dance, each student has an opposite gender partner (or an invisible one since I have 947 boys and only 2 girls in my class). At one point of the dance, one of my boys said, "I have no idea what I'm doing!" to which one of my other boys replied, "just follow your girl, she knows where to go!".
Profound eh?

Baptism
My niece was baptized on Saturday. I am so proud of her! She's such an amazing example to me of the kind of person I ought to be. She's truly the most thoughtful person I know. Not to mention the fact that she's beautiful!

The Saturday before, my mom and I took
her shopping and to lunch. My mom wanted to get her a CTR ring for her baptism. We had lunch at Wendy's (her pick, that's why I love kids, they are so cool), went to the mall, and finished up with a trip to Barnes and Noble (I love that my nieces and nephews love to read, makes my teacher heart oh so happy).
#7 - check

Well, Amy rented the super long version of Pride and Prejudice last week and we watched it. It was really fun! We did think that the casting was a bit off since truly it wasn't the most attractive group of people we've ever seen, but the script was great. Thanks Amy!!
I'm not gonna lie, there's a few things on my list that are not going to get done before my birthday (being as it's on Sunday and all). Truly, I'd feel bad except that I did learn a lot and have some great experiences from this list. I went skinny dipping, on a cruise (to Mexico, mind you) and sang karaoke in public. I also discovered that I'm a terrible golfer. So really, I feel like I owe this list nothing...it's been a good year. Not to mention the fact that this year brought new things that were way cooler than the stuff I didn't do on my list anyway. :)
Now I'm formulating next years list. This is one of my favorite traditions I have!
