Scars

I had a little incident while getting ready last Sunday that has left a slight scar just above my lip on the left side. I kinda like it...which I find creepy! I like scars, and I think that makes me crazy. :) I guess it started with my surgery a couple years ago. I have four scars (two large and two small) on my abdomen from that event. I kind of like them because it reminds me of that significant event and how it changed my life. That may sound stupid, but seriously, I had horrific abdominal pain as long as I can remember (my dad remembers it starting around age four) and I haven't had any since...that's pretty significant to me. Anyway, it was a hard time for me and the events surrounding the surgery are etched in my memory. It was a big deal in my life and I think of the scars as battle wounds and therefore, kind of like them. Well, this brings me to my craziness of today...the new scar. I guess I think that each scar tells a story, and it becomes part of who we are and where we come from and that makes them beautiful. This is why I am not tempted by the advertising of those scar remedies. I guess I want to keep my scars, and I find it kind of sad that they fade away with time. I guess the fading too is kind of poetic...but that's a whole new kinda crazy and I've let out enough crazy for the day.

Back to School

Well, today was my first day back to work. I love the first day back. It's fun to see everyone again and see how relaxed everyone looks after the summer. Don't worry though, the exhaustion sets in soon enough. It's fun to see all the friends that I don't see much outside of school.

My favorite part...
There is always a few people (who shall remain nameless) who spend the day checking everyone out. Who is tan? Who changed their hair? Who is dressed differently? Who lost weight? Who "found weight"? Who brought a new beau to the luncheon? It's hilarious to me! I sometimes wonder if they have a life of their own, or if their life just consists of watching how other people live theirs. I think they also spend a lot of time worrying about what other people are thinking about them. Anyway, it just makes me laugh is all.

I-15

I have been thinking about this for a couple months now, which is honestly kinda sad, but I need to get it all out once and for all. On I-15 between Willard and Brigham the freeway is such that I feel as though my tires are going to explode or fall off my car. For those of you Northern Utah natives, you know what I mean don't you? It's terrible! And although I know that it is the freeway and not my car, every time I drive there I have a brief panic moment where I wonder if I should pull over and check my tires. I have discussed this with a few people and they agree. It's kinda funny really. I can fully admit that I am paranoid when it comes to tires because I have had a blow out twice in my life and it was terrifying both times. So, I probably worry about this and think about it more than necessary...

The blogging world and other stuff

So I am a huge nerd. Being as I'm all new to the blogging thing, I decided to do a little research and see what kind of things I could find on blogging. Well...people blog about all kinds of crap. You all probably already knew this, but this is new to me. I found a blog where this guy gave advice on how to change yourself and be happier and more content. Well that's cool hey? And it seems that tons of people read it and follow his advice. As far as I can tell he has no real reason for being smarter about life than anyone else, but yet people follow his life suggestions as if it were from their psychologist. Honestly? I think it's kind of cool. Maybe I should start telling people what to do, that'd be fun. I think the real power in telling others what to do is that you learn a lot about how to live and what you should do for yourself.

Anyway, I guess I've decided to have a what's up blog...but for me, what's up in my life is largely related to what I'm thinking about these days.

Well, with a new school year just over a week away I have been thinking a lot about what changes I want to make and what habits I want to start. It's fun having a fresh start each fall. I guess I want to do the obvious things like live healthier, better control my emotions, exercise more regularly, be more organized, enjoy every day to the fullest, and all kinds of other good stuff. So that's really what is going on with me at the moment. I am evaluated where I am at, where I have come from, and exactly where I want to go next. I am going to set specific goals and even post them here...hoping I will stick with them a bit more than usual...

Here I am!

My first blog...how about that? I've been as opposed to jumping on the blog bandwagon as I was to jump on the Harry Potter bandwagon. As with Harry Potter, I have obviously given in. I guess we'll see if I find blogging and good as I found the books.

Anyway, here I am. I decided to just have a "what's going on" blog. For those of you that don't know (can't imagine who wouldn't know this about me, but whatever) my high school friends have called me Chewie, or Chew (Star Wars enthusiasts they are) for years...hence Wassup Wit'Chew. I am so clever in the middle of the night!

I hope you will all enjoy my blog. I will try to keep it interesting and maybe even entertaining.
