What's News?

Well... I guess when you don't blog for a couple months or more you have to catch up on what is going on, especially when you use this as your journal/scrapbook.

I spent Spring Break in Alabama with Dale and his family. Mom and Dad came this time, so that was fun. I will have a separate post about that with lots of photos. I have then spent time settling into my new house, which I love. I will get some photos of that as well and post them. I had a birthday, so I need to get a new list for the new year going as well...yet another post. I saw Young Frankenstein at Capital Theater in SLC, Wicked in Boise, and Les Miserables at Capital in SLC. I don't really have pictures from those to post, so I can just say that I didn't love Young Frankenstein (it was part of the Season Ticket package this year) but it was okay. Wicked is my new favorite (it's coming to SLC next year, and yes, I'll be going at least once). Les Miserables was amazing as always...but I prefer the older version that is less rushed than this new one. I can't complain though, I simply love musical theater. I dream of working in the industry...but that's less likely to happen than my former dream of living in an Airstream trailer or my ever increasing dream of becoming a motivational speaker.

Speaking of musical aspirations... my voice is finally starting to heal! I don't sound like a smoker anymore! Getting off of corticosteroids for asthma has made a big difference. Yay for being able to breathe AND speak/sing again!

In other big news... I did not sign my return contract in Idaho for next year so I'm jobless. A lot of the districts in Northern Utah have not hired yet, but my contract needed to be signed in Idaho. A lot of people told me to just sign it and then break it if I got another job, but I didn't feel comfortable doing that. It seems like a breach of integrity to me. So...I took a huge leap of faith and turned in my letter of resignation. I still do not have a job in Utah, but I'm hoping that will change soon. I'm doing all that I can and have prayed to know if I'm making a huge mistake and felt okay about my decisions...so...here I am!

Alrighty...well that seems sufficient for today. I'm getting real internet (as opposed to the 3g I have had) at my house on Wednesday, so I can catch up on some of those other posts in the next few days. :) Check back soon!

Off the bandwagon

Wow...I didn't even finish my 30 day challenge. That's promising! I guess that's part due to a busy life, part due to lack of internet at my new house, and mostly due to lack of interest in it at the moment. But, it's summer...and I'm baaaaaaaack!!! I think??

So... here is the rest of my days...I have to finish what I started. :)

Day 21: I do not have a favorite picture of myself. I don't know why. I have some I love and some I hate, but not a favorite. Sorry! :)

Day 22: What's in my purse? My wallet, my cell phone, lip gloss, gum, my passport, some tampons, a couple of post-it notes, a pen, a rebate check to be cashed, and a bunch of random receipts.

Day 23: My favorite movie is probably The Holiday.

Day 24: Something I've learned is that things have a way of working themselves out...eventually.

Day 25: Okay, the first 10 songs I get with my iPod on shuffle...should be interesting...
1. Spring Street - Dar Williams
2. Falls on Me - Fuel
3. Tomorrow - Avril Lavigne
4. Am I the Only One - Dixie Chicks
5. Longest Time - Billy Joel
6. Novocaine - Bon Jovi
7. The Greatest View - Silverchair
8. Where Can I Turn for Peace - some random LDS artist
9. Better Life - Keith Urban
10. For Good - From Wicked the Broadway Musical
Yeah, I have a random musical taste. I'm surprised there wasn't more country...a good chunk of my iTunes is country.

Day 26: My dream wedding? Gosh, at this point I'll just be glad to have one! ;) Actually...I'm determined to get married in the Brigham City Temple when it's complete...and then have a reception at Maddox Lodge. Unless of course the Dance Hall thingo they are renovating downtown is complete by then...maybe I can do a reception there. (I joked with my family years ago that it'd probably be done by the time I am married...thinking that they'd never finish it...but hey...now it looks like it might beat me!)

Day 27: Photo of the city I live in... or a landmark in my town at least...

Day 28: Something that stresses me out?? Not having a job!!!!!!!!!!

Day 29: Three wishes
1. A job
2. A family of my own
3. For my brother and his family to move back to Utah

Day 30: I drove home with my windows down so I now refuse to take a picture of me this day. :) But 5 good things that happened?? These have nothing to do with this challenge, but during this past couple months I visited my brother in Alabama, said brother survived some of the deadliest tornadoes on record, I've spent time with my family here in Utah, I had a birthday shout hooray, and school ended for the summer...wahoo!
